Emperor Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, is the main antagonist of the Star Wars franchise. He is a powerful sith lord who is notorious for wanting every member, including Rey, in his family killed, corrupting Maul, Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker into becoming his sith apprentices, creating the Galactic Empire, being responsible for many events within all nine Skywalker saga films, creating Supreme Leader Snoke, which manipulated Ben Solo into becoming Kylo Ren by whispering voices inside his memory, and exterminating the Skywalker and Solo families, thus forcing Rey to adopt the surname "Skywalker".
