Heinous Standards Story Scale shows the type of stories that have different types of heinous standards. Stories are divided into three different types: light-tone stories, mild-tone stories, and dark-tone stories that show the three types of stories by their tone. There are also standards that show different types of heinous standards: low-heinous standards, average-heinous standards, and high-heinous standards.
Story Types by Tone
- Light-tone Story: Stories that often deals with topics that are not too serious. Many of these stories are often considered kid-friendly and made for a younger audience. These stories are often described as light-hearted or comical and have a little to no violence.
- Mild-tone Story: Stories that have elements of light-hearted topics and tone and more serious and darker tones. These stories can be for an older audience. These stories often have a lot of action and can be very comical and have light-hearted content while having very serious topics.
- Dark-tone Story: Stories that deal with very serious topics with little to no comical or light-hearted topics. Many of these stories are often made for an older and more mature audience because the topics that appear in these stories are too serious a topic for a younger audience. These stories can have some light-hearted elements or comedy, but it is often overshadowed by the consistent dark or grim tone.
Story Heinous Standards
Low Heinous Standards
Stories that have low-heinous standards.
- + - Minimally Low-Heinous Standards: Stories where the heinous standards are very low. Violence of any kind is rare within stories like these and the overall topic or theme of this story focuses on topics that have neutral characters.
- ++ - Moderately Low-Heinous Standards: Stories where the heinous standards are low. Violence is very limited for these types of stories. The overall story often focus on topic and themes that is not focused exclusively on heroism or villainy.
- +++ - Extremely Low-Heinous Standards: Stories where the heinous standards are considered low with added elements of that makes it more heinous than moderately low-heinous standards stories. These stories are still on the lower end of stories with heinous standards but still have limited amount of violence that is considered below average. This type of story have a higher chance to focus on topics of heroism and villainy.
Average Heinous Standards
Stories that have average-heinous standards.
- + - Minimally Average-Heinous Standards: Stories that where the heinous standards are minimally low but average. Violence is common in stories like these and can have topics that deal with heroism and villainy. Stories such as these are capable of having characters who can be Inconsistently Heinous (Rank 3 -), Near Pure Evil (Rank 2 -), or Pure Evil (Rank 1 -). Usually, stories like these are bound to have one or very few characters who are IH, NPE, or PE. Violence at this level is not too high and can also have topics and conflicts that isn't focused on heroism and villainy.
- ++ - Moderately Average-Heinous Standards: Stories that have average heinous standards. Violence is common in these stories and stories such as these have a more common good vs. evil theme. There can be more than one character that is Inconsistently Heinous, Near Pure Evil, or Pure Evil. Level of violence is moderate at this level, not too high or too low for the topics, themes, and story-telling of the story.
- +++ - Extremely Average-Heinous Standards: Stories that have an average-heinous standards that is higher than moderately average-heinous standards. Stories like these have violence as a common element of the story-telling and can have some very extreme violence within the story. These types of stories are bound to have a few characters who are Inconsistently Heinous, Near Pure Evil, or Pure Evil. Stories such as these may have villains who have high-level threats to the setting.
High Heinous Standards
Stories that have high-heinous standards.
- + - Minimally High-Heinous Standards: Stories that have minimally high-heinous standards. Violence is common within the story. Elements of good vs. evil themes and topics can also be common. These stories are bound to have a couple Inconsistently Heinous, Near Pure Evil, and/or Pure Evil villains within the setting. The heinous standards are slightly higher than average because of the level of extreme violence that occurs more often than in the Extremely Average-Heinous Standards. At the same time, the heinous standards is minimal since it does not have the amount of violence that is common at the moderately high level.
- ++ - Moderately High-Heinous Standards: Stories with high-heinous standards. Violence is common within these stories in addition to common topics and conflicts that deal with good vs. evil. These stories are bound to have many characters who are either Inconsistently Heinous, Near Pure Evil, or Pure Evil villains. In addition, these stories may have more than one character who at first glance are very heinous but fails the heinous standards. Stories at these levels have extreme violence from time to time but the extreme violence is not as common. High-stakes conflicts and villains with high-level threats to the setting is common.
- +++ - Extremely High-Heinous Standards: Stories that have extremely high heinous standards. Extreme violence is common at this level of heinousness. Stories like these are bound to have multiple Inconsistently Heinous, Near Pure Evil, or Pure Evil villains along with a couple characters who at first can be perceived to be exceptionally heinous but fails the heinous standards. Stories like these often have high-stakes conflicts and extremely potent villains that can have high-level threats to the setting.
