Guts, an example of an Inconsistently Admirable character from Berserk.

Inconsistently Admirable are under Rank 3 +. These characters are as admirable as Pure Good heroes but have, notable and multiple corrupting qualities or are portrayed in a work that is not conducive for pure good heroes. These characters surpass both the in-story standards and the general standards for their actions. These characters are portrayed to be beneficial to their setting and to those near them.

Inconsistently Admirable comes in three classes:

  • Class A: The character has many bad qualities that detract from their heroic deeds. These characters have notable and multiple corrupting qualities such as committing serious crimes or being a villain. In spite of their corrupting qualities, they have done many good things in their setting to help many people or stop a danger to the setting.
  • Class B: The character is shown to have major moral agency issues and is likely to be a one-dimensional character with little personality. This type of character can be of supernatural origins or it can be an artificial intelligence.
