This is a list of corrupting qualities for Near Pure Good characters (Rank 2 +). In this list, it shows a list of corrupting qualities that can apply to Near Pure Good characters and a list of corrupting qualities that cannot apply to the characters. This is based on the fact that Near Pure Good characters have limitations to corrupting qualities, otherwise the character would not qualify as Near Pure Good and may possibly qualify as Inconsistently Admirable (Rank 3 +).
List of Corrupting Qualities That Can Apply
A list of corrupting qualities that would normally apply to Near Pure Good characters. These are often common preventions listed for Near Pure Good characters.
- The character has multiple moments of being unnecessarily mean-spirited and rude.
- The character can have a hostile temper.
- The character is shown to be arrogant and very prideful. This includes characters who are shown to be self-righteous and condescending to others.
- The character shows envy over something that is largely trivial but does not take their envy to the point of physically harming others.
- The character makes an insensitive joke or comment (that is not xenophobic). The comment or joke may show make light of something very serious and may be gallows humor.
- The character displays violence that is more extreme than usual. While this may be too corrupting for NPG, the character has one moment of showing this otherwise it would be too big of a prevention.
- The character does not show any care to others for the impact of their actions. Such as if their action can seriously harm others. Usually, this would only occur either once or a few times, otherwise if this is a normal trait for the character, it would be a big prevention.
- The character makes taunting remarks towards their enemies and are condescending about it.
- The character has a mischievous streak. They are shown to pull pranks on others for the purposes of inconveniencing them for their own amusement.
- The character makes some comments that display selfishness.
- The character occasionally is sadistic, mostly towards villains.
List of Corrupting Qualities That Cannot Apply
These are considered severe preventions or big preventions that would prevent the character from being Near Pure Good and could make them Inconsistently Admirable.
- The character committed murder. They did not kill out of self-defense nor did they have to stop a character who was unreasonable from harming innocents, but they committed their crime for personal or trivial reasons.
- The character committed a mass murder or genocide. A crime so heinous that it affected many people and shocked the public.
- The character made xenophobic comments or supported discrimination or other forms of oppression.
- The character acts as a bystander who witnesses an innocent person being harassed but chooses to not do anything about it.
- The character actively harassed an individual. This would include bullying, intimidation, or stalking.
- The character committed torture.
- The character committed rape, even making reform from this generally atrocious act is hard to give a character a pass on being NPG, as this is a serious crime that is shunned by society.
- The character was complicit in a very serious crime where innocents were affected such as murder, genocide, mass murder, hostage-taking, etc.
- The character committed arson or attacked a place where there were multiple innocent people.
- The character is shown to be motivated completely by their own self-interests and are not interested in truly doing what is good for others.
- The character indirectly caused a major catastrophe.
- The character shows too many traits of psychopathy or sociopathy.
- The character is shown to be abusive to others such as their family members.
- The character becomes a fallen hero. They become a villain due to their heinous acts.
- The character actively enjoys harming others, sometimes even innocents, and may find excuses to do so.
- The character accidentally caused terrible harm to someone or multiple people, but instead of trying to make up for it and feeling terrible, they hide what they did to avoid the consequences, or only made up for it because they didn't want to be punished if they didn't.
