“ | I'll give them heroics. I'll give them the most spectacular heroics anyone's ever seen! And when I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll sell my inventions so that everyone can be superheroes. Everyone can be super! And when everyone's super... [chuckles evilly]... no one will be. | „ |
~ Syndrome on raising the RC standard in The Incredibles |
RC Standard (Resourceful Capability Standard) is about the standard of people, characters or objects in how they would be classified on certain resource scalings within the norm of the story. In order for a character to be classified within these resources they have to stand out within the setting of the story to be rank as such, for example if everyone was superpowered-like in the story then they would practically be normal or skilled due to how they don't stand out as the one with the superior resources among the majority. Accessibility has a huge factor to play in this category, an example would be in how characters would become more powerful from time and time in efforts in becoming so, such as leveling up, the easier the majority of characters are portrayed or displayed in the story in becoming more powerful, the less likely they are going to get the more powerful category, due to the lack of value the Resourceful Capability categories have in having them categorized to be that powerful, as that alone by default is a powerful capability in becoming much stronger than a normal RC standard would in gaining more resources. For example, even if little to no on shows is powerful enough to destroy a universe but the majority or not far off from the being a majority can get easily get that powerful by training for less than a few minutes, then that alone would showcase the RC standard being high, as that would be a powerful ability within a normal RC standard.
High RC Standard
The large percentage majority if not every character or person and object are filled with having superpowers that is not so hard to be accessible, or the powers are so ridiculously hax, that it can't be standard.
Mid RC Standard
The standard can vary among having a lot of normal and skilled level characters or specials of people with superpowers that is really hard to obtain and takes special circumstances for it to happen that is strictly exclusive to almost everybody in the story, or certain objects that is capable in preforming superpowered feats.
Low RC Standard
No person, character or typical object is notable for having any superpowers, practically part of a standard almost if not always in use of real world capabilities from how the 2000's Earth civilization is displayed and is by no shape or form significantly superior to that. Being Superpowered without the use of equipment is not accessible in this standard, these verses are where Atheists are generally correct on as no character is immensely powerful on this standard.
Examples
High RC Standard Verses
- Berserk - While Guts stood out as the guy who worked super hard to be a character with Superhuman powers, the reason why this series can't be mid on its RC standard is because of the theme of how the story goes with characters getting superpowers by killing their loved ones, and this happens a lot in the verse.
- DC Comics (Earth-Two, Earth-One, New Earth, New 52, and Rebirth.) - From just Golden Age, this verse with it's cast of characters are Superpowered, with all sorts of absurd feats.
- Devil May Cry - The vast majority of a single fodder demon can make countless humans fodder to them.
- Dragonball - Planetary destruction levels characters was common even in the first part of the series in terms of accessibility and the leveling up for characters training to be above Planetary goes far higher and faster than that.
- God of War - The reason why almost all the gods in this franchise are classified as Superpowered and not Immensely Powerful, is because being a Superpowered like character is treated as normal or skilled within this story, and the accessibility in being able to kill a god became potentially available to everyone in Greece when Kratos gave away the power of hope.
- Halo - There is no denying on achieving the power of a Spartan is hell on Earth, but given how there's so many inhuman species of sheer immense strength to even the Spartans, this franchise has to be high because of that.
- Heir to the Stars - Literally the weakest characters on the first novel can destroy multiple omniverses.
- Marvel Comics (Earth-616) - The same reasons as DC Comics.
- Megami Tensei - While the sub-series Persona could have had the final bosses and a few of the heroes of those games to be immensely powerful, none of them are able to, due to the very high resource standard the SMT games have set, not to mention that even in just the Persona games, it's anything but uncommon for any of them to be a minority to this level, and even if they had feats greater than other's, it's highly likely the cast of characters would soon be able to achieve what they did, such as Haru who apparently according to powerscaling communities would one-shot any phantom thief before Okumura arc, though the rules on how this verse works may not function like that, as the plot of the games relied mainly on their strategy than having dominate power on the next story arc. Also, any human is capable in being a Persona user.
- Power Rangers - Far too common with the accessibility among the cast of characters to be under High.
- Naruto - Even before Part II, this series had large mass of people be chakra granted, not only that but characters who aren't gifted like Rock Lee are capable of being stronger than a majority of ninjas and damage ten tails Madara. This is why Itachi can't be classified as Superpowered within the verse due to the standard of the accessibility in reaching to his level, although being as powerful as him was never taken as an easy feat among the majority and quite peak difficult to achieve.
- The Boys - The experiments that scientists can achieve makes the accessibility to super powers too common to not be at least be borderline of a miraculous power for a character to have.
- YuYu Hakusho - Even Humans are capable in destroying islands and countries, making the accessibility not-so impossible at all.
Mid RC Standard Verses
- Alien - The amount of Superpowered characters are limited strictly to the Xenomorph species, no human without equipment can reach to even an androids level, and the Ripley clone doesn't count, due to having some Xenomorph genetics in her.
- A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones - A certain amount of characters are Superpowered, being the dragons, but almost every single one of the characters are presented to be within human limitations.
- Death Note - There are 13 known Shinigami in the verse who seem to undergo some ground rules on how they can use their powers and what they can't use, as they none have went direct on a conquest to rule the world with their powers, and humans can only be Superpowered with a Death Note or other weaponry equipment, but they do have neat feats of martial arts and genius intellect, and resurrection is absolutely impossible.
- Earth-96283 - Only six characters are Superpowered in the verse, and it's only shown in New York City.
- Godzilla Minus One - Godzilla is the only Superpowered character in this verse.
- Outlast - Although it has a good amount of strong characters, only two are legit superpowered, being the Walriders.
- Neon Genesis Evanglion - A tricky case to be mid on the resource standard, but the reason for this is while there are new angels on many episodes of the show, they're only a certain amount of them with just a few notable immensely powerful characters, humans can only be on their level with the use of anyone born after the second impact with their mother's dead from the explosion, with just a handful of Evas that can be used for that and the First Ancestral Race have too much ambiguous background to place the standard any higher, although it could be possible that they are dominate in power.
- The Incredibles - According to Syndrome, being Superpowered is a small minority, and only had one chance in not being so.
